As scientists and educators, we take our role seriously in helping to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and keeping each other safe. As such, we are keeping up-to-date with the latest developments and have implemented best practices communicated by government and WHO officials. When we visit schools, early learning and other venues we will ensure that we do everything necessary to protect the health and well-being of students, staff and greater community.
We are a COVID Safe registered business, and the following outlines our COVID Safe plan.
Staff Health
Our staff understand the role they play in limiting the spread of Coronavirus. They are committed to staying home in the event that they feel at all unwell, or have been overseas or in contact with a known or suspected positive case of COVID-19.
Social Distancing
Presenters will adhere to the 1.5 meter distance rule. This means presenting from the far side of the presentation table, avoiding physical contact such as engaging in high-fives or hugs at the end of the session, and not leaning-in close when giving help to individual students.
Shared Equipment
Many of our hands-on workshops involve shared equipment. We will minimise the use of shared equipment, and equipment will be disinfected between sessions/classes. Shows do not invlove the use of shared equipment.
Tables
Presenters will disinfectant tables before, in between, and after workshops.
Hygiene
Presenters will practice good hand hygiene, washing them before and after touching any common equipment and between sessions. They all carry sanitiser and will sanitise their hands prior to site entry and regularly throughout the day. They will also adhere to other recommended hygiene practices such as coughing and sneezing into a tissue that is immediately disposed of or the crook of their elbow.
At all times we will follow the guidance and recommendations of the state education departments and health officials.
